My Background &
Why me?

My experience started at a Level 1 Trauma center in the heart of Washington, D.C. I quickly was trained to triage (OB Emergency department,) Charge Nurse, Preceptor, and eventually started travel nursing in 2019.

I have travelled all over the country learning from my patients on how best to serve them. I have extensive experience and training in nonpharmacological methods of pain relief and have worked alongside both midwifes and Obstetricians to help people reach their goals.

Likely because of my military background, I run towards fires in general. Because of this I am very comfortable and confident that I can get out of less than ideal situations and make the best of whatever I am presented with. I have taken care of the sickest moms and babies safely and then transitioned with my next patient to help her have a tub birth and deliver unmedicated using hydrotherapy.

Purpose

Positively impact your story.

Birth is powerful. Education makes it empowering.

LaborLoves was created to bridge the space between clinical knowledge and the human experience of birth.

Founded by Labor & Delivery nurse and childbirth educator Kasey BSN, RN, RNC-OB, ICE-E/D(P),  LaborLoves brings real world experiences from the birthing space into education that is approachable, evidence based, and genuinely impactful- whether you're preparing to give birth or support someone who is.

We believe people deserve more than just a list of instructions. They deserve to understand why things happen, what their options are, and how to confidently participate in the decisions around their birth stories.

Two paths. One purpose.

For expectant Parents

Education and support designed to help understand labor, your changing body, your developing baby, prepare for birth, explore your options, and enter the birth room feeling informed and supported.

For Healthcare Professionals

Practical, clinically relevant education designed to strengthen knowledge, confidence, communication, and care at bedside. Learn how to thrive in chaos and prepare for the pivots. After class, feel confident knowing your patients are in the best hands when they are under your care and rest easier knowing confidently there is no one more fitted for any situation you may come across. Every class discusses how to effectively communicate with your team to best serve those we are gifted with advocating for, because communication c greatly impacts the perception in quality of care delivered. You are here because you are supposed to be.

At the heart of both is the same belief: When people understand birth, they experience it differently.

Welcome to LaborLoves.

Education

2006-2014

Naval Nuclear Power Program & Instructor

After graduating from the Naval Nuclear Power Program I had my first opportunity to mentor and teach. The military fostered a desire to learn why and how I can work smarter, not harder. I apply this principle to all of my births. I am intentional with every movement and spoken word. I meet you where you are and help you get to where you are trying to go.

2015-2018

Hawaii Pacific University

Bachelor's In Science and Nursing

2018-Present

Labor and Delivery & Postpartum Nurse

I am certified by the National Certification Corporation in Obstetrics, an Expectant Parent Certified Spinning Babies Instructor, an International Childbirth Educator, and an AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Instructor currently.

Communication

Kasey,

I cannot thank you enough. Because  you were so thorough, we were prepared when we needed to pivot from our birth plan.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding this time around was much more enjoyable after our quick class together! I really feel like had I known what I do now the first time around, I may have been able to breastfeed for longer!

Support

First time dad here, and your class helped me to better support my wife. I had no idea what I was doing to the point I didn't even know where to start to look for help! I can't wait to put what we learned to use!
